Passes, Memberships and Gift Cards

Explore the variety of recreation passes and membership and gift card options in the City of Burlington.

Available passes and memberships

Check out our available recreation pass and membership options on Live and Play, our registration website.

Active5 Pass
Our Active5 Pass lets Burlington students in Grade 5 access unlimited recreation options year-round. 
Aquatic fitness

30-day pass and 10, 20, and 40 passes available.

Burlington Teen Tour Band and Junior Redcoats

The Burlington Teen Tour Band (BTTB) is open to membership for youth aged 13 to 21. Learn how to join the BTTB or contact music@burlington.ca for more information.

The Junior Redcoats is the feeder band for the BTTB for youth aged nine to 13. Learn how to join the Junior Redcoats.

Fitness

10, 20 and 40 fitness passes are available.

Lap swim

30-day pass and a yearly Lap and Recreation swim pass are available.

Recreational swimming
A summer swim pass and a yearly pass are available
Skating and Recreational Hockey

10, 20 and 40 shinny passes available for recreational hockey programs and a skate yearly pass for skating programs.

Tyandaga Golf Course

Tyandaga Golf Course offers the conveniences of an urban golf course coupled with the atmosphere of a rural setting. Memberships for the upcoming season go on sale online in March, during golf season, memberships can be purchased directly from the Pro Shop at the golf course.

Youth

Passes can be used in-person for multiple members of the family.

  • Family/Youth pass: This pass provides access to any (10) drop-in family or youth, family fitness or sport drop-in classes.
  • Home School 10: This pass provides access to any (10) drop-in Home School Sport drop-in class.
  • Home School 40 pass: This pass provides access to any (40) drop-in Home School Sport drop-in class.
  • Preschool Play Fit pass: This pass provides access to any (10) Preschool Play Fit drop-in class.

Purchases and renewals

You can purchase a pass or membership and renew your membership either online or in-person. Log in to your Live and Play account or visit one of our recreation customer service locations to purchase or renew passes. When you're logged in to your account, navigate to the Membership tab.

Terms and conditions

Passes and memberships terms and conditions
  • For a complete information on Code of Conduct including Covid Voluntary Acceptance of Risk statement.
  • Passes and Memberships are not transferable and cannot be loaned to another person.
  • Pass and Membership holders must comply with all staff instructions and all admission and supervision standards for the specified program. See burlington.ca/playstandards for more information. Pass and Membership holders must comply with all City of Burlington by-laws, policies, and procedures.
  • Program dates and times may change. Holiday closures and scheduled facility maintenance closure dates will be posted on the City of Burlington’s website and at the facility.
  • Fees may change. HST is applied where applicable. An additional fee applies for non-residents.
  • All NSF cheques will be charged a $40 administration fee.
  • Declined credit card payments will be charged an administration fee.
  • Once a pass or membership term has started and you request to cancel the pass or membership, you will only receive a partial credit. The partial credit amount will be based on the value of the remaining portion of the term from the time the cancellation request is received. Any cancellation requests must be made in person or in writing. Refunds for unused credits may be requested at any time.
  • By entering the facility or participating in any City of Burlington program, the Pass or Membership holder or the legal guardian of the Pass or Membership holder voluntarily accepts the risks of injury, death, damage or loss of property as a result of entering the facility or participating in any program. 
  • The City of Burlington may remove a Pass or Membership holder from the facility and/or terminate participation in any program at any time.  The City of Burlington is not responsible for any injuries, deaths, damages or loss of property for any reason. The Pass or Membership holder or the legal guardian of the Pass or Membership holder agrees to fully release the City of Burlington from any claims.
  • These Terms and Conditions may change without notice.

Recreation Gift Cards and Tyandaga Golf Certificates

Give the gift of recreation and enjoy it in a variety of ways.

Purchase online

Now you can easily buy and send online gift cards from the comfort of your home. Just pick the available option and send it electronically.

Log into your Live and Play account. When you're logged in to your account, navigate to the Online Store tab.

Purchase in-person

Gift cards are available at City recreation facility locations during regular service hours.

Tyandaga Golf certificates are available at the Tyandaga Golf Course during the golf season.

Consider giving a gift card for:

  • the holidays
  • a celebration - e.g. Mother's Day, Father's Day or in birthday loot bags
  • a significant milestone - e.g. graduation, retirement, or end-of-school-year gift for a teacher

Recreation gift cards can be used to pay for:

  • Registered recreation programs
  • Admission to drop-in programs such as swimming, skating, preschool, youth or fitness programs
  • Recreation passes: monthly, seasonal or annual
  • Facility rentals

Terms and Conditions for Recreation Gift Card:

  • Valid for purchases of goods and services at any City of Burlington facility
  • Gift cards have no value until purchased and will not be accepted if the card number is invalid or has not been activated
  • The gift card does not expire
  • Cannot be redeemed for cash
  • Lost or stolen cards will not be replaced
  • Some exclusions may apply

Tyandaga gift certificates can be used to pay for:

  • Green fees
  • Golf merchandise
  • Golf cart etc.

Terms and Conditions for Tyandaga Gift Certificate:

  • Gift certificates can be used at Tyandaga only in the Proshop. This can be applied to green fees, power cart fees, merchandise, etc.
  • Gift certificates cannot be used towards food and beverages
  • Gift certificates have no value until purchased and will not be accepted if the certificate number is invalid or has not been activated
  • The gift certificate does not expire
  • Cannot be redeemed for cash
  • Lost or stolen certificates will not be replaced
  • Some exclusions may apply
